Wicklow Gaol was originally built in the late eighteenth century though there has been a jail on the site since 1702. Lugnaquillais a 925 metre (3,035 ft) tall mountain just out side Wicklow. Views, on a clear day, extend east across the Irish Sea to the hills of the Llyn Peninsula and mountains of Snowdonia in Wales, and west to the mountains of Munster. Lugnaquillais means “hollow of the wood”. Read more…
