Port Erin lifeboat station

Port Erin lifeboat started in the 1880’s with a 10-oared self-righting boat. The first station was built in 1884 with a slipway added in 1900. The Port Erin Lifeboat Station you see today was built in 1925 with a slipway thought to be one of the steepest launch slopes.

The Port Erin lifeboat station now operates a rigid inshore lifeboat.

As the station and shop are manned by volunteers you will need to check locally the opening times..
