Cefn Sidan is a fine sandy beach backed by dunes that sits at the edge of the Pembrey Burrows and looks out into Carmarthen Bay in South Wales. Ferryside beach is on the east bank of the Towy estuary in Carmathenshire. The beach is a sandy beach. A railway line runs behind the beach so best to park in the main village. As this is an estuary beach care should be taken when entering the water due to tides.

Dylan Thomas Boathouse is where poet, writer and broadcaster Dylan Thomas (1914-1953) lived in Laugharne for the last four years of his life. As well as the tearoom with wonderful views of the Taf estuary and the Gower beyond, there is a furnished front parlour, an upstairs exhibition area showing a 24 minute film and a shop.
