Cefn Sidan is a fine sandy beach backed by dunes that sits at the edge of the Pembrey Burrows and looks out into Carmarthen Bay in South Wales. The beach stretches for nearly 8 miles, and you can have a long walk to the water at low tide.
Cefn Sidan has dog restricted areas between the 1st of May and the 30th of September, and if visiting within these times check the local signage to locate the dog-friendly areas.
The beach is large and exposed so it can be windy but a geat place to walk and the beach is popular for kite-buggying and kite-mountainboarding.
When the tide is out, why not head along to the northern end of the beach and see if you can spot the wooden remains of a shipwreck protruding from the sand.
Cefn Sidan forms part of the Pembrey Country Park and is known as Pembrey Beach. There are several beach access points across the park and for disabled access or families with pushchairs it is best at the main entrance by the beach kiosk.
Facilities include car parking, lifeguards (summer only), cafe/restaurant and beach shop.
As this is a large beach with large areas of sand dunes it does have some naturism although this is not allowed.
