The Surf Club Cornwall
The Surf Club Cornwall is located at the Bedruthan Steps Hotel overlooking Mawgan Porth beach.
All instructors are fully qualified surf coaches, CRB checked, as well as qualified beach lifeguards. Our lessons last a duration of 2 hours and we provide all the equipment.

The Trevone Bay Cafe and Shop sits behind the beach by the car park. You will find a cafe, shop and you can hire wet suits, surfboards, kayaks and bodyboards. The bay can be a little rough and the shop is always on hand to offer advice on the conditions.

Mawgan Porth beach is a wide sandy beach with sand even at high tide. Less crowded than its Newquay neighbours and more accessible than Bedruthan Steps. Beacon Cove is a sandy beach that disappears at high tide. The beach is backed by high cliffs and sits between the main beaches at Watergate Bay to the South and Mawgan Porth to the North. Getting down the steep slopes is a challenge and the nearest facilities are at Mawgan Porth. We have no dog information for Beacon Cove beach.

At Carnewas and Bedruthan Steps Beach the coast is steep cliffs and rock scattered sandy beaches. Starting at Carnewas Point the beach winds around the craggy rocks for approximately 1 mile. Watergate Bay in Newquay has a two-mile stretch of sandy beach at low tide. An action-packed beach with excellent facilities and beachside restaurants. Located on the beach with views out over St.Ives bay towards Godrevy Lighthouse and Hayle beaches. Kingsurf Surf School is a B.S.A and Surfing England approved surf school that operates out of Mawgan Porth beach. We offer all levels of surf tuition including group and family lessons, with all of our coaches are qualified beach lifeguards, community responders for the RNLI and attend a yearly casualty care course.

Watersports are not the only thing to do, Watergate Bay is a great beach for a walk at low tide and dogs are allowed all year round. Like most of Cornwall’s beaches it’s on the South West Coast Path and there are good walks in both directions – North to Mawgan Porth, Bedruthan Steps and Constantine and South to Newquay.
