Mawgan Porth beach is a wide sandy beach with sand even at high tide. Less crowded than its Newquay neighbours and more accessible than Bedruthan Steps. As the beach has golden sands and less busy than its neighbours it is ideal for families and surfing beginners.
Toilets, parking, cafe and shops are close to the beach with lifeguards during the summer months.
Dog Friendly Beach?
Mawgan Porth Beach is dog friendly and allows dogs all year.
Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as: - Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest - Good: generally good water quality - Sufficient: meets minimum standards - Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
