The Haven beach is a beach of sand, pebbles and rocks that sits below Tintagel Castle. At high tide, all you have is some large rocks but this is a spectacular location with a waterfall coming down from the valley onto the rocks.
Tintagel is more famous for the nearby castle than a beach and you can just imagine the supply boats being unloaded in times gone by. The castle is associated with the legends surrounding King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.
The path from the village down to the beach and castle is steep although English Heritage provided transport for a small fee. Once at the bottom of the valley you have the castle visitor shop, toilets, exhibition and cafe. To get to the beach itself is then a further set of steps.
In all The Haven beach is worth a visit when combining with the castle.
