Maryport beach sits south of the marina and is a combination of shingle and sand although at high tide it all disappears. Facilities at the beach include car parking at the marina by the lighthouse.

Crosscannonby beach beautiful shingle and sand beach. This beach can sometimes be referred to as Allonby South beach. Allonby Bay is popular with windsurfers and at low tide the beach is good for kite-buggying. The area is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

Siddick beach is a long stretch of sand and pebbles north of Workington harbour. The beach is hard to get to and is backed by a small wind farm and some industry units.

Allonby beach is a beautiful shingle and sand beach. At low tide the beach has a large area of sand that is good for kite-buggying, whilst Allonby Bay is popular with windsurfers. The area is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Facilities include car park, toilets and shops.

Workington lifeboat station was established in 1866 and operates an all weather lifeboat and has an unusual crane (davit system) to lift it over the harbour wall at launch. Station is open daily, no shop.
