Thurlestone Sands is a fine, shingle sandy beach and sheltered waters. The southern part is also known as South Milton Sands. This beach is very much the beach that time forgot, a family beach for traditional beach activities and games; just relax and play amongst the rock pools. You can occasionally get a south-westerly swell which produces some big surf.

Leas Foot is the smaller of the two Thurlestone beaches with fine, shingle sand and sheltered waters. Facilities are available at the main Thurlestone Sands beach, approximately a 10 minute walk.

Hope Cove is a sandy sheltered by the “Bolt Tail” headland. Hope Cove is a small seaside fishing village actually split into Inner Hope and Outer Hope. The beach in Outer Hope is also called Mouthwell Sands. Popular surfing, watersports and diving beach. Good coastal walks. Facilities include toilets, parking, slipway, small shops and a choice of places to eat close by.

Burgh Island is a small tidal island off the coast of South Devon in England, near the small seaside village of Bigbury-on-Sea. There are several buildings on the island, including the Burgh Island hotel, an iconic Art Deco landmark and retreat.
