Beer Beach in East Devon is a very pretty, curved pebble beach that is usually quite busy all year round. The picturesque village of Beer lies around the cove and is an excellent spot for browsing, enjoying a meal, or having afternoon tea.
The pebble beach is a natural sun trap sheltered from sea breezes by the surrounding cliffs. It is suitable for swimming, but youโll share the pebbles with lobster pots and fishing boats, sunbathers, walkers,ย and kids crabbing! Itโs a great spot to buy fresh fish straight from the fishermen and take a pleasure cruise on one of the many operating from Beer. Pecorama is close and well worth a visit, as is Seaton Beach.
Thereโs good parking on the cliffs, but itโs about a 5-mile walk, which may be steep for little and older ones. You can also park in the middle of the town and take the road to the beach on foot.
Dogs are allowed on the eastern half of Beer Beach all year, but they are banned from the western half between May 1 andย September 30.
The beach is close to the town centre, and facilities include toilets, parking, shops, and cafes.
