Challaborough beach is a popular family and surfing beach offering a predominantly left-hand point break. It has a horseshoe shaped bay with a sand bar protecting the entrance and is split by a small stream. The beach has views of Burgh Island. Burgh Island is a small tidal island off the coast of South Devon in England, near the small seaside village of Bigbury-on-Sea. There are several buildings on the island, including the Burgh Island hotel, an iconic Art Deco landmark and retreat. The island is approximately 270 yards (250 m) from the mainland and is approachable on foot at low tide.
