Shaldon beach is situated on the mouth of the river Teign, an unspoilt Devon village formed as silt was washed down by the river Teign. Shaldon has the Shaldon Wildlife centre dedicated to conservation and sits between the riverside Shaldon beach and the seaside Ness beach. Parking and other facilities within the village itself.

Maidencombe is a small sandy cove surrounded by red sandstone cliffs and has rock pools at low tide. Access is down a steep narrow path. Good access to the coastal paths giving excellent views of the rugged coastline. Facilities include small pay and display car park, cafe and toilets (summer only).

Grimspound is one of the many prehistoric settlements you can find on Dartmoor. Dating from the late Bronze Age (about 1450–700 BC) you have the remains of 24 stone roundhouses a massive boundary wall about 150 metres in diameter. There are great views of the site from Hookney Tor and the high ground on Hameldown.
