Highcliffe beach is sand and shingle beach with groynes below grassy cliffs. The beach has areas marked for swimmers and watersports, providing safe conditions.
Highcliffe beach also provides good access to the fossil hunting clay cliffs at Barton on Sea.
The beach has a large car park and most facilities are by the car park or a short walk to Highcliffe.
Highcliffe Beach is a Blue Flag Beach and has been awarded a regional Seaside Award.

Studland Bay has over 250 beach huts of which some 50 are available for rent from the National Trust. The huts vary in location in that some are on the beach edge overlooking Studland Bay whilst others are set back and more secluded among the sand dunes.
