Information
Blast Beach was once hidden deep below waste from Dawdon Colliery which was one of the last Durham mines to close. After the mine clean-up, you now have a spectacular stretch of coastline with empty beaches, high cliffs and wildflowers.
This is a great location to head out and explore Durham’s Heritage Coast.
Car parking is available at Nose’s Point.
We have no current information on dog restrictions for Blast Beach.
