Blyth has 20 colourful traditional timber beach huts which are available for daily hire with access between after 8am and to finish by 7pm. Newbiggin lifeboat station was established in 1851 by the Duke of Northumberland. The station now operates an inshore lifeboat. The station is only open by appointment and the shop on Sunday only.
