Chantries, small chapels for travellers were common in medieval England.
This Chantry at Morpeth is one of the few to survive and now houses a pipes museum, craft studio and tourist information point.

Newbiggin lifeboat station was established in 1851 by the Duke of Northumberland. The station now operates an inshore lifeboat. The station is only open by appointment and the shop on Sunday only.
