Whitefield Castle
Whitefield Castle is a ruined L-shaped castle near Kirkmichael in Perth and Kinross.
First built in the 12th century by Malcolm Canmore, the former hunting lodge was then expanded in 1577 by the Spalding family into a more grand residence. It is said that the castle has a ley tunnel which links up to Ashintully Castle (internal link), another of the Spalding family’s residences.
Long since abandoned to fall into ruin, the remains of Whitefield Castle can be walked around.
