Glastonbury Tor dominates the surrounding countryside. The hill is 158m (518ft) above the surrounding flat land and on a clear day, you can get tremendous 360-degree views over the counties of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
At the hill’s summit, excavations have revealed the plans of two superimposed churches of St Michael, of which only a 15th-century tower remains today.
There are no facilities or parking at the Tor, it is a hike to the top on hard paths with some strategically places benches for a rest, and dogs are welcome under close control at Glastonbury Tor.
