The most unusual glamping spots in England!

Glamping is the in way to holiday!

Now glamping has taken a turn for the better with totally unique sites and experiences to be had from camping in among the wild things to soaking up the sun on the beach or just whiling away the time in the beauty of the English countryside.

We’ve had a look around and rounded up the some of the most unique glamping spots in England for you to choose from.

1.  Elephant Lodge in Kent

Elephant Lodge in Kent is a luxury ‘glamping’ experience that takes you right into an Africa experience.

The camp site is in Port Lympne Wild Animal park in Kent so you have views right across the park at elephants, cheetah and other African wild life from the comfort of your deck! The luxurious tents sleep 6 – 8 and have private bathrooms and all those wonderful facilities that make camping unforgettable.  It’s close to the coast and highly popular so book as quickly as you can.

2.  Under the Ash in Powys

Under the Ash offers a festival wagon that used to house fairground workers but is now ensconced in the countryside at the edge of a field with gorgeous views.

The original fittings are still in place but with added luxury! Sleeping two adults this gorgeous wagon has shared bathroom facilities as there is a converted railway wagon close by. It’s available via Canopy & Stars.

3.  Medieval Glamping at Leeds Castle, Kent

We love this glamping site! It’s all about going back in history a bit and embracing the gilded chairs, sheep skins on the bed and four posters! Perfect for a romantic weekend away or a special occasion for a loved one.

You sleep in medieval tents with a log stove, fur throws and showers in the main house (knights cottage). Kids are welcome with each tent allowing two children but no pets.

4.  Durrell Wildlife Camp, Jersey

Durrell Wildlife Camp is a very luxurious affair with camping pods that even have sun beds on the deck, showers and kitchen facilities! The animals are close by so you’ll wake up to the noises of lemurs, birds, monkeys and other animals.

If you love wildlife you’ll love this camping experience. Here you can play Keeper  or Vet for a day and get to grips with rare animals

5.  Harvey, Hayle in Cornwall

Harvey is a train compartment but not just any old carriage.

This train carriage is gorgeous with many original features like luggage racks, blinds and upholstery from the 1950’s. You’ll think you’re in a cottage as Harvey now offers swings, toys and videos. Pets are welcome here and the beach is just a few minutes walk from the door! Staying in a train is great fun for the kids and those train mad men too!
