Heddon's Mouth

Heddon’s Mouth Beach is a secluded pebble beach at the bottom of a deep valley where the River Heddon meets the sea. This hidden gem is part of the Exmoor National Park, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and dramatic landscapes.

The beach at Heddon’s Mouth is surrounded by towering cliffs and dense woodland. The rocky shoreline is ideal for rock pooling and exploring, with the clear waters offering a refreshing dip for the more adventurous.

Access to Heddon’s Mouth Beach involves a scenic walk through the Heddon Valley. Well-marked footpaths lead down to the beach from the Heddon’s Mouth car park, which is managed by the National Trust. The walk is relatively easy and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the river as it winds down to the sea.

At the National Trust car park, there is also a cafe, toilets, and a pub, the Hunter’s Inn. The Hunter’s Inn is dog-friendly, not only for food but also for staying overnight, as all rooms are dog-friendly.
