Great Things To Do This Spring In The UK

It’s that time of year when we can smell Summer but it’s just not warm enough yet to shed the layers and turn the heating off.

The anticipation in the air is heady though and there is always so much to do while you ready yourself for those long, sultry Summer days that are just around the corner. Here’s our list of wonderful things to do in the Spring and prepare for in the Summer!

1.  Get to a Gig!

This is the beginning of the festival season in England. There are loads of food festivals and music festivals to attend or book for later months. Events like the cheese rolling at Cooper’s Hill in Gloucestershire on the 27th May are hilarious and a fun day out for everyone. Proms concerts are starting like the one held at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire on the 13th July and Glastonbury is already sold out but lesser festivals to watch out for including the Cheltenham Jazz Festival from the 1st to the 6th May and the Bestival on the Isle of Wight in September!

2. Get into the Water!

It may not be warm enough to swim but you could canoe!

Try canoeing the impressive Giant’s Causeway. You need to be pretty fit and a bit experienced though but it does give you views of the breathtaking and dramatic coast of the area and seal spot! Northern Ireland is a great spot to try canoeing in the Spring.

If you’re not brave enough for canoeing try one of the many indoor pools and get your crawl up to speed for Summer!

3.  Zap along the Zip Line

North Wales now has the world’s longest zip line!

This zip line is 1 750m long and you’ll fly along at 130km per hour! A must for adrenalin junkies.  Thank goodness it’s above water! Have a look at this…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDpLfCgoF5A

4.  Explore the Heritage Trail

The English Heritage Trail is endless and cram packed with great days out whether it’s to an ancient site like a castle or standing stones or just walking through a nature reserve or sitting by a river.

Each page of our website offers you a selection of attractions that you’ll find near the coast so you can explore and really enjoy a fun day out with the family.

5.  Get your kit on!

It’s that time of year when wellies and macs dominate!
