Bognor Regis sits on the West Sussex coast at a mid-point between Brighton and Portsmouth. Bognor is a good location for a base as you have the town itself but also to the west you have the raw nature around Pagham harbour, to the east many small beaches along private estates eventually joining Littlehampton. A few miles inland you have the South Downs, an ideal walking or mountain biking area but also the beautiful towns of Chichester and Arundel. Many of the beaches on this stretch take the form of a typical West Sussex beach, that is a pebble high water bank then leading to compact sand at mid to low tide. They all then have wooden groynes used to stop beach movement but also providing natural windbreaks.
