Woolacombe Beach

Woolacombe beach is a two-mile stretch of golden sand, a favourite with families. The beach has zoned areas to separate swimmers from other water users, where activities on the water include surfing, windsurfing and canoeing.

Facilities at the beach include toilets, parking, a lifeguard in the summer, a cafe, a shop and disabled facilities.

Dog Friendly Beach?

Dogs are prohibited on Woolacombe Beach in zoned areas from Easter until 30th September. Dogs are allowed in adjacent areas if kept on a lead.

Woolacombe Beach Water Quality

Water samples are taken at regular intervals during the bathing season and at the end of the season the water quality is classified as:
  - Excellent: the highest classification meaning the water is cleanest
  - Good: generally good water quality
  - Sufficient: meets minimum standards
  - Poor: You are advised not to swim. The beach will stay open and an action plan should be in place to improve the water quality.
