About Seasalter Beach
Seasalter Beach is a quieter coast gem in Kent. When the tide is in, you’ll see pebbles on a steep shingle bank and wooden groynes. As the tide recedes, broad expanses of flat sand emerge, making it ideal for walking, playing beach games, and shallow paddling. Farther out, London clay makes the ground firmer.
The beach is less crowded than the nearby bays (e.g. Whitstable , Broadstairs), which gives it a peaceful feel. The groynes help shelter gusts on windy days, and the nearby salt marshes bring wildlife and scenic views that are a bonus.
Seasalter is located on the Kent north coast, facing the Isle of Sheppey, between the towns of Whitstable and Faversham. Much of the coastal area between Seasalter and Faversham is a coastal marsh with an abundance of wildlife, including wildfowl, wading birds and the famous award-winning salt marsh lamb.
Facilities at the beach include a cafe/restaurant, toilets, a shop, picnic areas, a slipway, a sailing club, a Hoseasons Holiday Park and a nearby pub. If you are hungry, then you can even pop along to the nearby Michelin-starred The Sportsman restaurant.
