About Sugar Loaf Beach

Sugar Loaf Beach is a dog-friendly estuary shingle/pebble beach located in a small cove beside the Portishead Sailing Club. The beach also has an old small tidal pool, which is good for splashing around rather than swimming.

As this is within the Bristol Channel, the tide ranges are big and can be strong, so swimming is not advised. When the tide is out, there can be large areas of soft mud.

Sugar Loaf Beach is a secluded cove with no facilities and very limited car parking.
