Burnmouth Beach
Burnmouth beach sits alongside the harbour which has been a working harbour since the mid-1800s. The beach does not have any sand but does have some interesting rock formations and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Burnmouth is the first village in Scotland after crossing the border with England and is split into two levels, Upper Burnmouth is on top of the cliffs and Lower Burnmouth includes the harbour and foreshore at the base of the cliffs.
The coast is popular with walkers and forms part of the clifftop coastal walk from Berwick to St Abbs which is approximately 12 miles. Whilst walking keep your eyes out as you have a rich selection of birdlife in this area include Oystercatchers, Grey Heron, Eider Duck, Redshank, Herring gulls and Curlew.
