Bracklesham Bay Beach is sandy and has a gently shelving shore, perfect for swimming, sailing, fishing, surfing, diving, or just paddling! At high tide, the sand disappears, and the beach is shingle.
This beach has amazing views southwest across the Solent to the Isle of Wight on a clear day.
Watersport enthusiasts love this area of the West Sussex coast as it is the perfect spot for windsurfing, kitesurfing and SUP! The beach has a school and local shop offering kit and expert advice.
The beach has no dog restrictions, and you can walk with dogs all year round. Whilst walking, why not try some fossil hunting and beachcombing, as it can result in some great finds along the shoreline on a falling tide?
Facilities include a restaurant/cafe, toilets, a slipway, and good car parking. The local village of East Wittering offers facilities like shops, restaurants, and entertainment. Accommodation is easy to find as several caravan and camping sites exist in the area.
This area is known as the Manhood Peninsula. You have a choice of two access roads, which can be very busy on hot days. The first heads to the easterly point of Selsey and the other road to Bracklesham Bay is shared with the popular Wittering beaches. Bracklesham Bay is quieter than the neighbouring East Wittering and West Wittering beaches.
