About East Preston & Angmering Beach
East Preston & Angmering Beach offers a quieter, more local beach experience compared to busier Sussex beaches. Pebbly beach with wooden groynes stretches along the shoreline, providing structure and protection from the tides. At mid- to low tide, compact sand appears, making it easier to walk or paddle.
This is a standard beach along the West Sussex coast, and the area surrounding the beach is very similar to areas west of Littlehampton towards Bognor Regis, such as Middleton-on-Sea, where houses and private estates back directly onto a pebble beach. These private estates mean access can be restricted, resulting inย fewer crowds and a more peaceful atmosphere.
East Preston and Angmering Beach is a dog-friendly beach.
There’s a sailing club right on the beach, adding to the character of the spot. The beach has a small beach kiosk by the sailing club and a cafe a short walk back up the road. The beach is just down the road from Angmering village centre, with cafes, more parking, pubs and some shops.
Limited parking, due to the private estates backing onto the beach, means you have two parking options: the village or the sailing club. Some roads have daytime parking restrictions during the summer or require a residence permit.
