East Wittering Beach is a shingle shoreline at high tide but sandy at low tide, the best of both worlds!
It is a quiet spot on the coast where the sailors love it as the sea here varies from flat to down the line, wave riding if the wind is right.
The beach is wide, so even on great summer days, the beach feels emptier than it is.
Dogs are prohibited from designated areas at East Wittering (between groynes A49 & S1) between May 1 and September 30. They must also be kept on lead on the sea wall.
Shelving gently, this south coast beach has extensive shallows for the kids to paddle in at low tide, and the village of East Wittering is within walking distance with shops and other facilities. There is a good selection of accommodations nearby with campsites and bed and breakfasts to choose from.
Facilities include toilets, a small car park on Marine Drive, shops set back from the beach and you always have the option to take a walk along the beach to nearby West Wittering Beach.
